With the rapid advancement of technology, fostering team cohesion is an increasing challenge among Organizations. According to the Volunteerism Survey in U.S. elaborated by Deloitte in 2024, 91% of the respondents acknowledged the positive impact of having volunteer opportunities at work in their own working experience and connection to the employer.

In addition, nearly half of the participants recognized a positive effect in their connection with their peers, but also the enhancement of their relationship to their community and their own sense of fulfillment.

Broader findings also support this. Benevity's data suggests an increase in both volunteer hours and company engagement in volunteering activities. However, limited employee time and finding the right match between skills are the main challenges for these activities to increase engagement and impact.

In my view, corporate volunteering is a powerful way for companies to harness their human capital for social good. Beyond reinforcing corporate values, it creates opportunities for employees to contribute their expertise to their communities, foster relationships and a shared purpose across teams, and apply their knowledge and skills to initiatives that support sustainable community development. In doing so, corporate volunteering generates value not only for society but also for employees and the organizations they serve.
